The favorable time for Michelle

In this age of technology, online selling is one of the trends in doing business especially for parents who choose to take care of their children. This enables every parent to balance their time for work and family. One of them is Michelle Salva, a mother of a 10-year-old child from Tacloban City, who decided to market her homemade dessert, ice candies, and milk shakes on Facebook instead of selling them from one house to another. Michelle is fond of making desserts and milk shakes. She decided to post her homemade recipes online, which eventually became the turning point in Michelle’s online business life. According to Michelle, one of her Facebook friends messaged her for bulk orders of her desserts. From there, online customers continue to flow, which opted Michelle to look for capital to fund her planned business. Michelle joined the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Inc., a microfinance NGO that allowed her to borrow an initial loan of P5,000. The loan she availed enabled her to respond to more orders. She also gladly shared that she supplies not less than seven boxes of ice candies thrice a week to her resellers. According to Michelle, this nature of business is cool, fits her passion, and gives her more time to attend to the needs of her only child.
