New branch, wider outreach

CARD Bank, Inc., a microfinance-oriented rural bank, opened its 90th branch at Brgy. Antipolo, Naval, Biliran on October 22, 2018. The expansion is part of the extensive effort of the bank to reach the unbanked and underserved families in the rural areas. CARD Bank President and CEO Marivic Austria together with the Board of Director Malvarosa Perote and CARD Bank member Amelia Cerebo led the ribbon cutting at the branch opening. Established in 1997, CARD Bank has now more than 2.5 million clients nationwide and continuously providing capital to microentrepreneurs with an affordable interest rate. Aside from the financial services, CARD Bank also provides community development programs in coordination with the other member institutions of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) like access to education, health, livelihood and training programs, and among others. CARD MRI is a group of 21 development-oriented organizations including CARD Bank, which aims to eradicate poverty in the country.
