CaMIA turns 11

The CARD MRI Insurance Agency, Inc. (CaMIA) is now on its 11th year of providing life and non-life microinsurance products to millions of Filipinos. A thanksgiving mass was held on August 2 in celebration of their accomplishments for the past 11 years. On June 15, 2007 CaMIA was established and registered in Security of Exchange Commission (SEC) on August 2, 2007. CaMIA is the insurance agency of life and non-life insurance products of the four financial institutions of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI). It provides microinsurance products in real-time at the most affordable premium rate through partnership with various microinsurance companies. Vener S. Abellera (4th from left), president of CaMIA, said that CaMIA will remain committed in providing more life and non-life microinsurance products that would help the poor get back on their feet in times of grief and distress brought by calamities. As of June 2018, CaMIA has a total of 919, 170 policy holders under the SAGIP Plan, Kabuklod Plan, CARD Care, BAP, and Dakila. These insurance products cover personal accident, funeral benefit, and re-house. CaMIA belongs to the 21 institutions of CARD MRI that aims to eradicate poverty by providing microfinance, microinsurance, and development-oriented services.
