Team Visayas: 2018 planning for a better development services

CARD, Inc. Visayas Cluster held a Midyear Pre-Planning in order to assess and evaluate the institution’s performance in fighting poverty for the months of January to June 2018 on June 21-23 at the Cebu Business Park Hotel.

The planning’s main purpose is to review all the activities done within the first six months of the year, provide effective solution to the spotted problems, and most importantly to create achievable plans to strengthen the institution’s goal of zeroing poverty in the country.

The Executive Director of CARD, Inc., Jocelyn Dequito, also attended the activity to give inspirational message to encourage the management and staff to work better and harder to continue the spark of helping its clients.

“This planning is for us to keep moving forward for the better direction of CARD, Inc. Through this, we can create systematic policies to follow and abide. Each one of us has accountability to provide quality development services to our clients. We should always move forward,” Dequito emphasized.

Representatives from different regions present their respective reports to the committee to show transparency and pitch their sustainable plans for the upcoming months.

According to the Senior Regional Director, Dondon Mercado, each participant present their ideas and problems faced during the first six months and eventually provide solutions upon going back to their designated areas.

“A goal without a plan is just a wish. We should take issues and concerns from different areas because this planning is a tool for us to improve more our processes,” said Mercado.

Some of the suggestions raised were conducting effective trainings on management and leadership for staff, exposure of staff to different regions, and piloting agricultural and other loan programs relevant to its clients’ needs.

The planning was attended by CARD Inc. Management Committees and representative from all over Visayas and some from Luzon and Mindanao.
