Lelalee Vargas, 48, is an owner of the most visited photo studio in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. As a member of Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Inc. (A Microfinance NGO) since 2009, the growth and development of her business was evidently seen. She started with a PHP4,000 loan in which she used as additional capital for her humble business. Vargas only started with a second-hand DSLR camera, a desktop for editing, and a printer. At present, Lelalee’s Vargas Studio has more equipment and already doing big business with schools in Bunawan during graduation ceremonies and other occasions. Vargas said that she will never forget how CARD helped her during the most trying times in their lives. CARD, Inc. is a microfinance NGO that offers microloans to support the livelihood activities of the socio-economically challenged women and families for more than 30 years already.
