Inclusive financing

Inclusive financing. For seven years now, Elizabeth Pongcol (left), a farm owner from Pantukan, Compostela Valley, has been a client of Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Inc. (A Microfinance NGO). Their membership in CARD, Inc. helped them in maintaining the viability of their three-hectare farm filled with lanzones, mangoes, guavas, and durian, among others. Aside from the loan and microinsurance programs that the institution offers, Elizabeth’s youngest son (center) also qualified as a scholar of the institution. The scholarship started when her son was still in Grade 9 until now that he is in Junior High School already. CARD, Inc. is a social development organization that is in the business of poverty eradication. It offers financial and non-financial services such scholarship grants, capacity-building, and health protection programs, among others.
