Partners for development

Natividad Monreal, 58, is a resident of Pantukan, Compostela Valley. Few years back, she was looking for a banking institution to finance her piggery and sari-sari store. She failed, however, to present a collateral. She also tried borrowing from moneylenders but it did not thrive. Until she met the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Inc. (A Microfinance NGO) in 2008 and offered her various loan programs tailored fit to her business needs. Other than the loan programs, Mrs. Monreal also avails of the microinsurance and microsavings program of the institution. CARD, Inc. offers financial and non-financial services to low-income households with no collaterals and lower interest rate. This is part of the institution’s goal of eradicating poverty in the country.
