Mayon mounts fear; CARD sends relief assistance to evacuees

More communities are being affected as Mayon Volcano (Mount Mayon) in Albay continues to spew more ashes, affecting the health and displacing the livelihood of everyone nearby.

With 2,000 of its clients affected, CARD MRI distributed relief goods and packs of medicine to all affected members and their families.

“To bring faster aid to the affected members, we strategized our efforts to deliver the relief goods. Our operations staff checked the affected clients and immediately responded to provide them relief assistance,” said CARD MRI Disaster Response Team Chairperson Marilyn M. Manila.

CARD MRI Managing Director Flordeliza Sarmiento shared that CARD MRI is making extra effort to bring faster disaster response. “We will continue to monitor the activity of Mayon. We do not know what will happen, but I assure you that CARD MRI will be there to help the affected communities,” said Sarmiento.

With its thrust to make Filipinos resilient in times of calamities and unexpected circumstances, CARD MRI makes sure that the communities it serves are ready. It educates its clients about disaster preparedness and offers microinsurance as their safety net in times of uncertainties.
