CARD to bring financial literacy service to Dubai

The founder and chairman of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip with the president and CEO of CARD-Business Development Service Foundation Inc. (CARD-BDSFI), Mr. Julius Adrian R. Alip, paid a courtesy call to Consul General Paul Raymund P. Cortes and Vice Consul Elizabeth P. Ramos at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on November 2, 2017.
The meeting was aimed to initialize the discussion on future programs for OFWs in Dubai since CARD MRI hopes to bring financial literacy service to Filipinos who are working in the area.
Dr. Alip also took the opportunity to meet with former CARD MRI staff who are now based in Dubai. It was during the meeting that they have encouraged CARD MRI to set up a program in Dubai similar to the program in Hongkong, which is a non-profit organization that supports OFWs through financial literacy programs.
“We are very grateful that the idea of establishing a CARD office in Dubai was warmly received,” said Dr. Alip. “Our aim is to provide financial literacy program to OFWs in Dubai and neighboring emirates,” he added.
During the visit, they also met with CARD’s remittance partner, Xpress Money, a global money transfer brand with a thriving presence in more than 150 countries in the world. They met with the Head of its Business Strategy, Arundhoti Banerjee and its Relationship Executive, John Paul Abuda at its Dubai office in TECOM.
The Xpress Money has been instrumental to CARD Bank’s remittance product, CARD Sulit Padala, which allows clients to send money to their loved ones in the Phlippines.
“Our partnership with the Xpress Money became stronger. We really want to help our kababayans to have an immediate access to remittance center so that they will be able to send money to their respective families in our country,” Mr. Julius Alip noted.
CARD MRI will continue to strengthen its international presence to provide financial literacy programs worldwide.
