More than 34,600 families were assisted by CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) as tropical storm ‘Urduja’ hit the country and left many communities submerged in flood water days before Christmas.

In response to its affected members, CARD MRI sends relief assistance to its clients and their families. “We are prepared to assist them in times of calamities. We already distributed all the relief packs to affected clients of Urduja,” CARD MRI Disaster Response Chair Marilyn Manila, said.

The CARD MRI microinsurance group has already paid a total of 713 policy holders for their house damages caused by ‘Urduja’.

Meanwhile, 17 reported casualties from CARD clients and their families were already given aid and have already been paid for their insurance claims.

Extending your help

CARD MRI launched donation drives in social media to help the affected communities. “Let us help them feel the true spirit of Christmas. Let’s extend our hands to help them,” said Manila.

After ‘Urduja’, our country experienced another typhoon hitting Mindanao and Visayas islands. To help the affected families and extend the essence of Christmas, interested donors may donate clothes to CARD MRI Head Office, CARD, Inc. Regional Offices, CMDI campus in Bay, Laguna and Tagum City, CARD Bank, CARD SME Bank, and Rizal Bank branches located in Visayas and Mindanao. Donors may also give cash donations to address the basic needs of those in the affected communities.
