CARD MRI sends assistance to Marawi City

An institution that treats its staff and members as family, CARD MRI sends immediate assistance to the affected members and staff of the organization in Marawi City.

Through CARD, Inc. and CARD MBA staff and MBA coordinators, CARD MRI immediately provided relief goods to members and staff in Marawi, Saguiran, Ramain, and Marantao. The gesture is part of CARD MRI’s Disaster Relief Assistance Program (CDRAP) where it extends help to members beyond its usual mandate. In the face of adversity, CARD sees to it that it takes care of every member of the institution, either financially or in kind.

“As an institution that reinforces each other, we want our members and staff to feel that during the most difficult times, we are there to assist them and to help them,” said Ms. Flordeliza L. Sarmiento, CARD MRI Managing Director.

Through the CDRAP, relief operations stations were established in Pagadian City and Iligan City. A total of 23 CARD MRI staff and 638 CARD MRI members and families received relief goods and assistance from CARD MRI. Campaigns for donations, both in cash and in kind, were also organized. Currently, CARD MRI accepts donations in kind and in cash from different foundations, organizations, and private individuals to supplement assistance in the conflict area.

CARD MRI’s first relief operation for areas in conflict was in Bohol last April 2017 where more than 500 families received assistance from CARD MRI.

The relief assistance pack of CARD MRI includes goods consumable for at least three days and a medicine pack. As of April 2017, CDRAP has already reached 1.2 million families since it started in 2006.
