CARD MRI Grants Scholarships to Students of Military and Police Courses

CARD Scholarship Program (CSP) is now granting scholarships for children of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) clients taking up or will take up courses in the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), and Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) starting this school year.

“To support more CARD members, we are now extending our scholarship grants to those who want to enter PMA, PNPA and PMMA. This is part of our program called “One Family, One Graduate” wherein we want one from every socio-economically challenged family to graduate in college,” said Founder and Managing Director Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip.

According to him, they used to prioritize scholars taking up business and communication courses so that they will be readily employed by any CARD institution.

“This time there is no limit for the scholars in choosing the course they want. We hope that this will help in decreasing dropout rates here in our country,” he said.

CSP is one of the community development services of CARD MRI for its members and their children who find it difficult to attend school due to financial difficulties.

Like other CSP scholars, applicants studying or will study in the three identified schools will receive Php 12,000 per year for a maximum of four years if they will be part of the annual scholarship grantees. CARD members who are interested in the scholarship grant may visit the nearest CARD branch in their areas for more information.

CARD MRI has already granted 7,549 educational scholarships through CSP. Among the scholars, 2,339 have graduated and are now helping their families. Today, there are already 3,605,929 clients of CARD who are now joining the institution’s 30 years of providing beneficial programs and services to the poor.
