Health education and CARD MRI health programs start airing at Radyo ng Bayan Lucena

Lucena City – CARD MRI through its Community Development Group, started its regular radio guesting  on February 9, 2017 at Radyo ng Bayan, DWLC 1017 kHz program, Kabalikat sa Pagbabago to discuss common health concerns as well as its health services.

CARD MRI, formed a partnership with Radyo ng Bayan Lucena, an AM radio station owned and operated by Philippine Broadcasting Service in the Philippines to help in informing the public about health.  The focus of the monthly radio guesting, which will be aired live every second Thursday of the month is on health education and other related concerns. Dr. Roderick G. Belen, Deputy Director of Microfinance and Health Protection (MaHP) will be one of the regular guests.

CARD MRI has been successfully implementing the Microfinance and Health Protection (MaHP) Program or locally known as CARD Health Pinoy Program since 2007. It has built various partnerships with medical practitioners and hospitals in the Philippines and has hired medical practitioners in its workforce to provide health services to CARD MRI clients, their families, and communities.

“We have partnered with different doctors, nurses, medical technologists, PhilHealth, clinics and even hospitals and other MFIs to help us bring health services closer to our clients. We also do Community Health Days (CHD) all over the country. As of December 2016, we have reached out to more than 230,000 CARD MRI clients, their beneficiaries, and non-CARD members nationwide” Dr. Belen said. The segment’s highlight is hypertension and its possible causes and prevention. It is the commonly encountered illness during CHD.

In the said maiden airing, Ms. Leoniel L. Algire, program host asked CARD MRI guests, Dr. Roderick Belen, Deputy Director of Microfinance and Health Protection (MaHP) and Ms. Cleofe Figuracion, Deputy Director for Corporate Communications, about its health program and health concerns encountered by CARD as it implements its health program. According to Dr. Belen, hypertension is the most commonly illness during the CHDs. Hypertension is the segments highlight.
