CARD MRI Publishing House flies to Iloilo City on September 23 to 24, 2022 to bring Koa Kafe, a pop-up event that highlights the value of reading for both adults and children.

The Koa Kafe was held in the Jaro offices of CARD Bank and CARD, Inc. (A microfinance NGO) with more than 300 individuals enjoying CARD Publishing’s books, magazines, and other publications over snacks and drinks served by Mga Likha ni Inay, the marketing arm of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI).

During the event, 23 children participated in a storytelling activity featuring the storybook ‘Ang Lapis ni Anya.” The children learned the importance of managing time wisely and how to use gadgets properly.

“As a publishing house, it is important for us to raise a generation of readers. It is through storybooks like ‘Lapis ni Anya’ that we pass on our core values to the Filipino children. CARD Publishing will always be value-laden, adhering to CARD MRI’s goal of uplifting the lives of our countrymen,” said CARD Publishing President Marilyn Manila.

Since it was launched in March 2022, Koa has been to Zambales, Ilocos Norte, Masbate, Davao del Norte, Laguna, and Camarines Norte. Koa Kafe will be flying in October to Baguio City.

CARD Publishing, CARD Bank, CARD, Inc., and Mga Likha ni Inay are member-institutions of CARD MRI, a group of institutions established in December 10, 1986 with a common goal of eradicating poverty in the Philippines through financial, non-financial, and community development programs and services.
