San Pablo City, Laguna – “The Mga Likha ni Inay Fashion Show is the first activity of its kind. This is a fashion show through which our clients will widen their opportunity to increase their income. Their products will go directly to the market and we will help them with that. This is one of our ways in effecting positive changes in their lives, their communities and eventually to the country; this is what the Mga Likha ni Inay Fashion Show is all about,” said Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip, Founder and Managing Director of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) during the press briefing for the Mga Likha ni Inay Fashion Show held last March 9, 2013 at the CARD MRI Head Office in San Pablo City, Laguna.

This exceptional, one of a kind fashion show will feature the clothing and accessories made from Philippine indigenous materials such as piña cocoon from Lumban, Laguna, tiger grass from Albay, Bicol, T’nalak from Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, and handwoven cloth from the Mountain Province, all of which are sourced from the members of CARD MRI in the said places. The materials are then used to create unique, avant-garde designs that will comprise the collection for the fashion show which will be staged by CARD MRI through its affiliate CARD Business Development Service Foundation, Inc. (CARD BDSFI).

The program also buys the products from the clients on a cash-on-delivery basis which are then distributed to different main stream outlets such as malls and restaurants.

At present, the “Mga Likha ni Inay” product outlets can be found in SM San Pablo and SM North EDSA, selected resorts and hotels in Tagaytay, and in CARD Head Office in San Pablo City, Laguna.

“We are very much excited about this fashion show as we will also pay tribute to the T’bolis, the Mangyans, the Ifugaos and the Blaans. With this, we want the public to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of their crafts,” said Mr. Aristeo Dequito, CEO of CARD BDSFI.

The fashion show will be staged on March 16, 2013, 6PM at the Cinema 2 of SM San Pablo City in Laguna.
