Rizal Rural Bank transfers Head Office to Sta. Cruz, Laguna

Rizal Rural Bank, Inc. or RRB, one of the newest member of the CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institution (CARD MRI) recently opened its head office at P. Guevarra St., Sta. Cruz, Laguna to offer its products and services to residents of Sta. Cruz, Magdalena, Majayjay and other nearby towns. RRB now has two branches with RRB Taytay, Rizal as its first branch where the former head office is located.

RRB was founded in May 1996 by Greg and Baby Suarez, both veterans of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, to serve the community in Taytay, Rizal where their family resides. Sharing the same mission to serve the economically-and-socially-challenged women and families, RRB was officially acquired by CARD MRI on January 25, 2013.

Banking services such as loans and savings are being offered by RRB while the other services such as insurance, health, client training and education, marketing of clients’ products, and other social development programs are being outsourced by RRB from other member institutions of CARD MRI.

Notable individuals from CARD MRI who were present during the event are Ms. Flordeliza Sarmiento, President and CEO of RRB; Ms. Dolores M. Torres, President and CEO CARD of Bank, Inc.; Ms. Elma B. Valenzuela, Executive Director of CARD, Inc.; Ms. Mary Jane A. Perreras, President and CEO of CARD SME Bank, Inc., and Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip, Founder and Managing Director of CARD MRI.

As a microfinance-oriented rural bank, RRB will live to its mission of poverty alleviation together with the other member institution of the CARD MRI.
