Mga Likha ni Inay (MLNI) opens another branch in San Pablo City

San Pablo City – Mga Likha ni Inay (MLNI), Inc., the recent addition to the growing member institutions of CARD MRI, opens another branch in San Pablo in Ultimart Shopping plaza last April 19, 2015. Its first branch is in its head office in City Subdivision, San Pablo City.

Upholding to CARD MRI’s mission, MLNI, Inc. aims to bring positive changes to the lives of local artisan who are members of CARD MRI by bringing their products to the mainstream market. It reaches out to weavers, capiz makers, jute workers, wood carvers, paper molders, leather workers, and other local artisans and underprivileged rural women with world-class talents and products.

“CARD MRI has found treasure in the communities it serves. There in the barangays, barrios and tribes lay the gifted hands of weavers, the fine designs of wood carvers, and the colorful innovation of capiz makers. These humble artists, though limited in resources, make creations at par with any mainstream masterpiece. They are of a different league, making indigenous materials and promoting their native land and heritage in the process.” said Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip, the Founder and Managing Director of CARD MRI. “With full faith, CARD MRI gave these precious treasures their chance to shine,” Dr. Alip added.

“I am thankful to CARD MRI for trusting our creativity and for paving the way for microentrepeneurs like us to have a wider market,” shared Elizabeth Agarao, a member of CARD and a supplier of MLNI. According to her, through the trainings provided by CARD MRI, she realized that she can also do online marketing of her creations where she is able to link with clients abroad. Ms. Agarao also makes the barongs and filipiñanas of most of the staff of CARD MRI.

MLNI, Inc. already has four kiosks in various malls in the country showing the creativity and promoting the products of CARD MRI’s clients to the public. The branch in Ultimart is the first MLNI boutique and the biggest so far. MLNI branches offers fashion accessories, apparels, commodities and souvenir items for the tourists that could also contribute to the city’s tourism industry.

“CARD MRI has always been putting its members on top of its priorities. Over the years, we have seen our members’ potential s and capabilities in their business activities. With their incomparable talents in their craft, they are able to create products, which we believe, should be shown to the world,” shared Mr. Aristeo Dequito, the Chairman of MLNI, Inc.

Mr. Takayoshi Amenomori, one of the valued partners of CARD MRI who has been helping since CARD started in 1986, has been supportive of this effort of CARD. Mr. Amenomori was convinced to assist CARD when it was still building its foundation because of its mission to help the socioeconomically challenged women and families conquer their barriers.

MLNI acts as the venue of CARD MRI clients to showcase their products through fair trade marketing, manufacturing, selling, advertising, promoting, consolidating and trading.

The grand opening of the said branch was led by Dr. Alip and Mr. Dequito.
